48 Days left and as I'm writing this the UK is watching Doctor Who. Today I am grateful for this blog not just because it helps pass the time until Torchwood but because it's passing the time until the US catches up and I can watch the latest episode of Doctor Who.

Waiting for this episode got me thinking about the series so far and how two of the four episodes that have aired have been scary and tonight's episode looks like it will be too. I promise I'm not turning this into a Doctor Who blog but it is brought on by this trend. If you don't know I am a giant wuss. I am scared of everything. I don't like scary movies, thrill rides, heights, spiders, everything that has ever scared anyone and a whole mess of things that only scare me. Because of this I have missed out on a lot of things. I know my limits and I don't put myself through things I won't enjoy or that will give me nightmares.

So when I am watching TV, watching Doctor Who and villains like the Weeping Angels and the Silence are turning up, I am truly terrified. And I'm not the person who enjoys being scared, I don't get that. If I loved Doctor Who less or the show got scarier I might talk myself out of skipping an episode or two or just dropping the show entirely. And I don't want that.

*FOLLOWING ASSUMES YOU HAVE SEEN TORCHWOOD THROUGH CHILDREN OF EARTH. SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT*

Now here's where Torchwood  comes in. Like Doctor Who, Torchwood has had a couple of creepy moments. Not quite as much. Thinking about it 'Countrycide' is really the only scary episode. And even then while it made me uncomfortable it didn't really scare me. It was more disturbing than horrifying, I actually love that episode. No! I am wrong! Totally wrong. There is also 'Small Worlds', weird that the two scary episodes of show were back to back. Now that episode truly terrified me. I still get a little worried when it's windy.

Through all the series of Torchwood I have stuck with it. I have put aside my discomfort or the general worry that it could get scary at any moment because ultimately it's an alien show. I love the show and I am willing to take that chance. And now Torchwood: Miracle Day is 48 days away and I can't help but wonder if in addition to getting more depressing as I assume it will, it will get scarier too.

If you read yesterday's 49 Days blog you'll remember John said in an interview "Season 3 ended on a dark note…series 4 is even darker." He specifically mentioned COE ending with Jack sacrificing his Grandson. So it seems he was talking about emotionally darker, but what if it's also darker in the horror aspect!? I was reading some old tweets the other day, from someone on the TW: MD crew and it said something about creating an alien for the new series. So assuming that is accurate and there is an alien and they have that bigger US budget to make it very convincing, what horrors wait for me?

I'll say it now, no matter how scary Torchwood: Miracle Day or any series to come might be, I will continue to watch, even if it's from behind my fingers. This is tied in first place as my favorite show ever (with Pushing Daises) and I will not give up on it. But, I really really hope it's not scary. I do not like the idea of having to turn away from the screen and miss moments of the show or God forbid John Barrowman's face. I don't want to be up all night waiting for the aliens to get me, my general insomnia is enough without the added fear of something lurking in the dark.

I know a lot of people like to be scared and I know sci-fi fans specifically like it, but I am hoping they stick to stories that are if not appropriate for the whole family (sexual content and all) could be watched by the whole family without giving the kids, and Dana, nightmares.

What do you all think? Is Torchwood: Miracle Day going to get scarier? Would you like it to? Would any of you stop watching if it did? xx

49 Days left and I have videos you may not have seen. Recently, I think Monday, John Barrowman appeared on a Canadian TV show called InnerSPACE. I posted a little web-exclusive clip from that as well as a short clip of the actual interview on my TWTW blog. I wanted to make today be all about this interview because more videos have come online (what I am hoping is the entire thing, but as I don't live in Canada I just don't know) and because they are some really great clips. John is adorable and gives some insight about the next season. Links to the show's website for each of the 4 clips are below:

John Barrowman "Torchwood Characters"

John Barrowman "Torchwood"

John Barrowman "Spoilers"

John Barrowman "Sheep"

Ok now if you haven't watched them yet...watch them. Done? Great! How about we discuss what dear John had to say. I think we should start with the 4th one "Sheep". Oh how that made me laugh!! John is so cheeky! I think he's the cutest person ever. And if you remember I used his fake spoiler for part of yesterday's 50 Days blog.

Then there's the Torchwood clip. I love, love, love (yes 3 times) John's hard sell of the show. He could sell ice to an Eskimo that guy. AND when he lists all the amazing actors the show has he starts with "It's got John Barrowman" I don't know if it's more endearing that he put himself first or that he's referred to himself in the 3rd person. Then we have my favourite quote to come out of Torcwood: Miracle Day interviews to date:

"What else could you ask for!?  Turn it on and if you don't like it just turn it off and switch to another channel. But I guarantee you you'll be hooked."

Preach JB! You tell 'em! I agree completely because first of all, yes, what else could we ask for? (except that one thing) and EXACTLY John Barrowman is a wise fellow, give Torchwood: Miracle Day a shot and if it's not your thing move on. But it'll be your thing. Perfect. Have I mentioned I love him?

Next is the "Torchwood Characters" clip. And I jotted down a few quotes from that:

"...characters that are story driven… it's not all about action it's not all about sex…they're emotional….they are a lot like people who are actually out there."

I for one am really glad to hear that they are going to continue giving us relatable characters and not try to over-sell the sex and action. I think a lot of people were worried they were going to use cheap tricks to attract new viewers but really, not Torchwood.

"We've got a bi-sexual hero, or an omni-sexual hero, played by and openly gay man. That's a big first in our industry and I'm really proud to be a part of that...He's really gay in this series."

As for Jack's sexuality, we've already heard they are not going to make him straight but apparently they are going to make him a little more gay. I have no objections to this but if I'm being honest I'm surprised by this move. I don't know why I'm surprised, I can't put my finger on it, but I'm happy about it. More boys kissing? OK! And by the way, I love John Barrowman, he's perfectly right to be proud of that, well done Torchwood.

Last is the "Spoilers" clip. First John says:

"Season 3 ended on a dark note…series 4 is even darker."

Which is immediately followed by Dana saying I TOLD YOU SO! Not that anyone disagreed. Oh Torturewood.  Also switching from season to series in the same sentence made me laugh, poor dear is getting confused switching between UK and US words. And he ends with:

"...I don't want to spoil it, although I know the sci-fi fans love spoilers, but you're not gonna hear them from me."

Bless you John Barrowman, well said. Aren't you proud of him for keeping shut? I am and I hate spoilers, so good on him.

I enjoyed the hell out of what is actually a rather short interview. As I said I'm not sure that was everything from the show but I am glad we got as much as we did. It's cool as a US Torchwood fan getting to see clips from Canada or the UK. Thanks SPACE Channel for sharing!

So what do you think? Is Gwen birthing a sheep a better story than Mum Gwen? Do you like that Jack is going to be a bit more gay? Have I mentioned I love John Barrowman? Do you love John Barrowman? xx

I got a tweet response from @SPACEchannel concerning this blog and wondering if the whole segment was online. They said the following:

@SPACEchannel  @BarrowmanDay the three were all the clips that were on innerspace (sheep was extra) the whole bit w/ Teddy + Ajay's chat is up on the blog

So that's good news! That is everything and you can see the blog with the whole thing at this link: http://www.spacecast.com/article/Excited-for-Miracle-Day

Yay for SpaceChannel! Which is of course the network for Torchwood: Miracle Day in Canada. thanks again.

50 Days left and CHECK IT OUT we reached the half way mark! That is so weird. As agonizing as this wait has been it doesn't feel like it's been 50 days! This blog thing must be working. I've been thinking all day about what to write. It's the half way mark so it should be special right?

Hmmmm. So I'm still thinking. I have tons of blog topics but...hmmmm.

I really wish I had something clever. Daily blogs are tough, some days you are feeling bloggy some days you aren't. Some days you have a really good topic, some days you force it a bit. Today I am just going to do a topic I have had planned and make it 50 related ok? Here goes.

Have you guys seen on twitter there is a tag called #FakeDoctorWhoSpoilers ? Well there is and it's incredibly fun to tweet fake spoilers. They can be hopeful, ridiculous or whatever else you fancy. Once I saw that tag I decided I would tweet #FakeTorchwoodSpoilers. I really wish I remembered some I've done now because it would help. But it would also be sort of cheating. So here's the deal below are 50 #FakeTorchwoodSpoilers:

1. When we find Gwen in season four she's given birth to a sheep. (OK so I stole this fake spoiler from John Barrowman. How do I top that?)

2. Rhys leaves Gwen for Jack.

3. There is a stray Cat that follows the team everywhere. When they finally get close enough to check the tag, it say 'Ianto' (yes this is the Ianto reincarnated as a cat thing, it was bound to happen.)

4. The Miricale Day Dilemma (MDD) keeping everyone alive turns out to be caused by an STD Jack spread.

5. Esther dies in the 8th episode. She eats poisoned peanut butter banana pancakes. (That one was for all the All My Children fans - yea I know it wasn't but it was sort of - you know...)

6. Rex turns out to be the latest regeneration of Gray, who by the way is actually a Time Lord.

7. Torchwood realizes they need help so they call in Buffy. She teaches Gwen about rocket launchers.

8. The Rift implodes and disappears forever.

9. Episode four is a musical. Everyone sings. Even the plants and animals. Except for Jack, that comes later (See number 50).

10. Jack can't sing or talk because he's turned mute.

11. Determined to communicate Jack turns to shadow puppets. Then the language of love...

12. They bring Ianto back so they can kill him again at the end of the series.

13. There are 2 Jack's and they meet. One makes the other cry. ( I totally had this dream. 2 Jack's could be WAY more fun than that.)

14. The team builds a new and improved Hub inside of "It's a Small World" at Disneyland.

15. Andy joins the team as the new tea boy. He suck's at it.

16. We meet Gwen's quirky American cousin who falls for Jack.

17. I play Gwen's quirky American cousin.

18. Jack gets pregnant and then loses the baby.

19. The new series will be scratch and sniff. If you scratch the TV you can smell John Barrowman.

20.  While Jack was off planet he finally saw a live Rugby match. Well, it was sort of like Rugby.

21. Before Oswald was a murderer he was the King of New York. And he pardons himself. (Any Newsies people?)

22. John Hart comes back to earth to help but ends up making things worse.

23. Jack convinces Rex and Esther that sleeping with him is a fun sort of initiation everyone has to team Torchwood.

24. The Doctor stops by and he doesn't see the problem with no one dying, so he doesn't help.

25. At the end of the series when all the casualties are stacked up RTD comes on screen to announce no actors were harmed in the filming so that people stop attacking him for character deaths.

26. The team has to make hard decisions. Jack has to sleep with everyone on the planet to take back the STD. (It makes sense, just watch and see.)

27.  Rex has a twin brother, named Sex. He's also a Time Lord and neither are really Jack's brother.

28. Not only are people not dying, they are aging backwards until everyone is sperm on the streets and as good as dead. Until Torchwood saves the day.

29. There is a nipple quota to be filled in each episode. It's 16. We need to see 16 nipples in every hour. Starz says so.

30.  Man nipples count. We see a lot of Jack man nipple. Rex is nipple shy.

31. Before their pulled back into Torchwood Rhys is living a happy life running underground pony races.

32. 2 of the episodes are adapted from FanFics.

33. Esther has a pet goldfish she carries around in a bowl. She has excellent balance.

34. Villainous giraffes! They're tall! They're reticulated! And they're angry! (this one I stole from a fake spoiler tweet by Jane Espenson)

35. The goldfish is the first creature to die.

36. Esther rhymes everything she says.

37. To deal with the over population they cremate live people. They live through it but they take up a lot less room.

38. Jack is left alone with baby Anwen and she accidentally kills him. (This idea was borrowed from a panel, don't recall who said it)

39. The new theme song is written and performed by Gareth David-Lloyd's band Blue Gillespie.

40.  For this series Murray Gold decided techno music was the way to go.

41. Oswald is an alien who can hypnotize people to do his will. That's how he won is kingship.

42. Burn Gorman returns to the show but as a different character.

43.  Ianto from another universe pops in. He and Jack get together and live happily ever after.

44.  Of course now Rhys is alone and he goes back to Gwen.

45. John Barrowman guest stars as himself. That's a total of 3 John Barrowman characters in this series.

46. Jack falls in love with Gwen's baby. (Twilight anyone? - And he loves her even after she's killed him.)

47. Every episode has a guest star that has been on Torchwood before.

48. Gwen has taken up knitting and makes the whole team matching gun cozies. (Yes, I went to the Pushing Daises place.)

49. Torchwood officially changes their name to Excalibur now that they have a blonde.

50. The MDD is undone by Jack singing. Specifically singing 'Dracula's Lament' from Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Ending the series with the emotional lyrics "Die. Die. Die. I can't".

Ok guys most of those ended up being pretty ridiculous as it's getting late and I'm on the clock. Hope some of them made you laugh, I can't proof-read because I'm down on time so apologies for any typo-nonsense. I fully intend to make this the #BarrowGame for this coming weeks #BarrowmanDay but until then does anyone have any #FakeTorchwoodSpoilers they'd like to share? xx

51 Days left and apparently the world is ending on Saturday. So I guess we should make these last couple of blogs count. In case you haven't heard, this may be a US specific thing, someone and his people are claiming the bible says that the world is ending on Saturday. There are billboards everywhere.

This has been quite the topic with people around here today so it was only a matter of time 'til it turned into a blog topic. I was talking to my mother about it and she said something about not worrying about the end of the world because everyone dies eventually. I said I was worried because I don't want to die ever. I said it just like that and I meant it, I want to live forever. Then we got into the argument about the virtues of living forever. She thought there comes a point when quality of life deteriorates so much that you are better off dead. I am the person who never ever wants to die, hook me up to life support, freeze me in the Hub morgue, don't let me go!

This of course all got me thinking of Jack, who can't die (or stay dead - Face of Boe theories excluded). Unlike regular humans Jack ages very very slowly so quality of life really isn't even on his radar yet, but Jack considers his Fixed Point Predicament (FPP) to be a curse. The trouble with living forever in Jack's opinion is mainly the issue of outliving others. He lives on as he watches everyone he loves die. That is certainly a drawback but really now Jack? I feel like he's being a bit silly about this. He still gets the same amount of time as anyone else does with the people they love he just has more time after, he has time to move on. Maybe because I've never been in love I don't understand the impulse to want to die when your partner dies. I get being sad but not wanting to live? Seems extreme.

And think of all the benefits! You could do everything! You could go on long enough and save enough money to accomplish whatever you want. You could learn hundreds of trades. Ha, Jack of all trades, that's funny. You could try every restaurant, visit every country, get degrees in everything. It sounds ideal. I'm 25 and a quarter of my life is gone, that's 25 years I am behind in accomplishing any new goal, but if Jack has anything new he wants to try he has all the time in the world. It's the same argument that comes up with a lot of vampire stories, the burden of immortality. But vampires have the issue of remaining inconspicuous, creating new identities and so on, Jack has Torchwood, he's permanently covered in the government paper department. Just saying.

In Torchwood: Miracle Day everyone becomes (I'm assuming temporarily) made immortal and I'm sure Jack is going to get in a huff about it, even if he's also happy to not be alone anymore. I don't think it's gonna go so far that he even has time to think about it, it'll be solved in like a week. But what do you guys think? If Miracle Day really happened and discounting obvious issues like overpopulation and not being able to heal would it be a good thing? Would you want to live forever? Are there more drawbacks or benefits? xx

53 Days left and I'm having a rough day. Been having some hiccups in my health, nothing serious but I am exhausted so please forgive today's brief blog. I wouldn't dream of gypping you all of something to pass the time so I do have something for you, it's silly but guaranteed to get a smile.

The other day I got an email from my friend Richard Starkings who in addition to being a Doctor Who and Torchwood fan has also worked on Doctor Who comics. If you haven't checked out his comic work, you really ought too. My point and I do have one, he was signing at a comic shop and he did a sketch for a fan, which he sent to me because he thought I would enjoy it. I would explain it to you but I really don't have the story behind it. I think it can speak for itself I hope it gives you a chuckle like it did me.

Yes, you saw it here first, the inevitable day the Face of Boe performs a classic Earth Lady Gaga tune, but of course with that special Boe flare. This is just ridiculous, and amazing and it made me smile.

How about we take this blog to a semi-bloggy place? Face of Boe. The popular belief is that Jack eventually becomes the face of Boe and eventually dies. I could tell you all about it but I imagine most of you have seen the evidence yourself. I need a question to end on so very simply, do you think Jack is the Face of Boe? Do you think it should ever be confirmed or do you prefer the uncertainty? Would Jack really go for Gaga or is he more a Britney guy? xx

54 Days left and I am a little bothered. I am bothered because today like most days I witnessed various friends of mine on twitter have actual arguments about Torchwood. It's one thing to have an opinion and even have a open discussion about it, but it's another entirely when something about fictional characters brings about hate between real people.

You guys, can't we all just get along? Is a TV show with fictional characters really worth making enemies over? I think we're missing the point. Torchwood is about entertainment, about telling a story and hoping people will like it. What it's not about is getting so involved in something that at the end of the day doesn't effect the real world that you find a reason to hate people for their opinions. Don't get me wrong I'm all for harmless joking jabs between fans about character outcomes or silly plot points or whatever it is the you have to say. One of my closest friends is pro Gwack and as most of you know I'm team Janto but guess what?  We don't have to agree on what we like in a tv show to get along! Even if that TV show is one of my favorite things it's not worth all this drama.

I once had someone block me on twitter because they found out I like Matt Smith. Now that's not as bad as it gets I've seen some harsh words exchanged and really out of line comments but the fact that liking an actor could deter someone from even considering me as a friend is a big example of what's wrong in some fandoms. And for the record I am not just talking about the Ianto fans and anyone that knows me knows I want Ianto back as much as anyone but I also don't wish RTD dead because he killed him. Y'know, killed  a fictional character. At what point did we lose the big picture? Sure GLD was out of a job but he's doing fine past Torchwood and characters get killed off all the time.

This is not the point. The point is I wish people weren't so committed to this show that they let it stand in the way of other parts of their lives. You guys know by now I am a huge Torchwood fan, that I adore John Barrowman but liking either of those things is not a prerequisite for being my friend and I don't judge people who entirely disagree.

And one more thing, for those inside and outside the fandom, I wish people would stop generalizing. Yes there are fans who take things too far, but there are also perfectly sane fans, who can take issue with part of a show without being unreasonable about it. So to say things about "the crazy Ianto fans" is unfair in my eyes. You can care about something without being inappropriate about it and many people are. And for those fans who spend all their time complaining about Torchwood and how it used to be good and how they would watch it IF (see my blog on conditional fans) there is a simple solution, if you don't like it, don't watch it. The show will go on with the fans that still want to watch it and new ones it picks up. It's...just...a...show. If it's causing you this much grief, just step away.

I'm really not trying to offend anyone with this or make generalizations of my own, you can care about something and not take it to a bad place. I care a lot about this show but GDL isn't dead and if Jack and Gwen get married and have babies John and Scott's relationship will withstand. This isn't real life, it's not worth the drama and certainly not worth any hate. I hope you can all just enjoy it for what it is and accept that others may have different opinions than you and that's fine. My friend said something really smart in response to my twitter rant about this before, she said:

An underlying THEME of Torchwood is creatures should co-exist, intermingle, get along! NOT to mention, it's FICTION

Let's all try to remember that ok? Torchwood fans as a whole are wonderful people and being here in this fandom, I've seen things I never dreamt I'd see. Loved people I never would have known if I'd just stayed where I was. ...sorry that was bad, couldn't resist. Anyway rant over how do you feel about all of this? Have you had conflicts that have effected your life because of Torchwood? Do you think I am out of line? xx

55 Days left and Starz keeps giving us presents this week! Starz has been running a new teaser on their channels between programs and of course it's made it's way online for everyone to see. Ok watch and then we'll talk...

Yes! I am loving it! I am completely and totally biased but I am thrilled to see Jack with words and everything! My favorite bit is Jack and Esther

"Is he gonna die?"
"No one dies these days"

LOVE IT! I seriously got chills.I was totally there the day they filmed two of those scenes! That is so exciting! The coolest thing about going to the locations (other than getting to meet John Barrowman, let's be serious) is seeing snipits of things and finding out how they turn into Torchwood. I recognized buldings and moments and I can only imagine it's going to be like that watching the show. How cool is it that they filmed in LA? I hope they are back next series, and there will be a next series.

Ok I'm done gushing, did you guys like the clip? Still need more Barrowman? xx

56 Days left and I am so relieved! Why am I revealed? Because today the list of episode titles for Torchwood: Miracle Day was released and I am officially not a snitch! I can now admit that a source told me the titles for episodes 2 and 3 MONTHS ago and I somehow managed to keep my mouth shut. Not because I don't love you all, but because I was told this in confidence and I didn't want to break that. In fact I told Mickie I found out something when I did and she got really mad at me for not telling her, then felt bad about getting upset, it was pretty cute.

But back to why we're here, episode titles hooray! Here's the list in order each followed by my commentary as to what they could possible mean, or random ramblings, we'll see how this goes:

1. The New World

The New World eh? Well doesn't that sound a bit familiar! In case you weren't around then (or paying attention) the original title of Series 4 of Torchwood was Torchwood: The New World. They of course later changed it to Torchwood: Miracle Day a change they announced along with the series plot. I definitely thought that maybe this was the title all along and new world was just a dummy title to not give anything away. Someone who works on the show told me that's not the case and this episode title certainly seems to confirm that. What do I think of it? It seems fitting. I imagine this first episode to be about the "new world" as in the world as it is now as opposed to then, the then being Torchwood past. This may be referring to a world without Torchwood and Jack and so on, a world that we'll see fall to pieces with the appearance of the Miracle Day Dilemma (MDD).

2. Rendition

Rendition. When I first heard this title those month ago I really had no clue what to make of it. I just kept thinking of renditions of a song and then I thought of John Barrowman renditions of a song and then I was talking myself out of believing this episode could have anything to do with Copacabana. That being said if Jack wanted to give us his rendition of Manilow or anything, who am I to argue? Can you IMAGINE Jack singing on the show? I know I can, makes me think of that episode of Angel, wait what? Shhh I am getting off topic and that's another blog for another day, what was I saying? Rendition, right...

(from Dictionary.com - I cheat, I always cheat)

ren·di·tion  (rn-dshn) n.

1. The act of rendering.
2. An interpretation of a musical score or a dramatic piece.
3. A performance of a musical or dramatic work.
4. A translation, often interpretive.
5. A surrender.

I always thought of rendition as  meaning something like 2 and 4. An interpretation, not necessarily musical, a new version of something previously established. So this to me would seem to imply a new rendition of Torchwood, the team. I don't know if that's the case considering how early it is, maybe it's a new rendition of their lives or of the world. That would make sense. But, since I did cheat...wouldn't it be so writer like to title the episode after number 5? What if rendition is a surrender?  Well that could mean a lot of things. It could be an enemy surrendering, it could be surrendering to circumstances out of your control or it could be surrendering to the inevitable. I think if this is the definition they are working with it's most likely a surrender of the characters to a life in Torchwood. But I'm really just think typing...

3. Dead Of Night

I can go really abstract here, I can look for deep meanings and nods to song lyrics but since I rambled so much in the last one and I'm really not sure what to make this out as, I'm gonna keep it short...Dead of Night...it's dark...it's a dark time. Ok? Moving on...

4. Escape To L.A.

This is a good title. I love my Torchwood characters escaping to LA! They are running to me and it's because of this episode and those that follow that I got see some filming and got to meet John Barrowman. What is this episode going to be about? I imagine about escaping to LA? Torchwood going to LA? Bad guys going to LA? Someone I think...may be going to LA. I could be wrong.

5. The Categories Of Life

"You people and your quaint little categories" Oh come on! You were all thinking it too! I did get a smile form this title because of the reminder of the Jack moment and because it make me think of Immanuel Kant's Categorical Imperative. Which is only the case because I am a giant philosophy nerd, but what are the chances that this is what it's about?

Wait...a....second...

Follow me on this (dumbed down for your non-boring pleasure - with only the important bits) the categorical imperative is a philosophy that talks about willing universal laws. Wait, let me try this...the first formulation of Kant's Categorical Imperative says the following:

"Act only according to that maxim whereby you can at the same time will that it should become a universal law without contradiction."

I'm trying really hard not to turn this into a philosophy essay what I want to get to is the idea of universal laws. Pretty much an action is tested for morality in one way by testing it's universibility. Can you will that everyone in the world always act in that way? An example Kant uses is lying. If everyone always lied than no one would believe anyone and so forth. It's not the point. What I am trying to get at is the idea of making something universal, like Jack's immortality. It is an interesting reading of the situation because I often wonder about Jack's reaction, if he could will that his immortality become universal. That's also actually also on my to-blog about list, we'll get into that more sometime. What I am getting at is this episode title could be a nod to philosophy geeks or I may be reading too much into this, as I do so many things. Ok I'll shut up now.

6. The Middle Men

Ah yes, the men in the middle. They aren't on one side or another, top or bottom, they are the Jan Brady of our tale. Middle Men, oh dear. Don't really know what to make of this. Hmmm, nope, I got nothing.

7. Immortal Sins

Immortal sins or sins of the immortal? This gets me all philosophy-feeling again. Have you guys ever heard of the Ring of Gyges? It's pretty much the ring in The Lord of the RIngs without all the evil baggage. It's a ring of invisibility and it's a story told to demonstrate how people who are impervious to punishment or failure would turn to evil. This makes me think I could be right about the human threat that I discussed in my 64 Days blog. I'll spare this blog the legnth by not rehashing, but by all means check out that blog.

8. End Of The Road

Well the end of the road. The title and the placement in the series suggests this is the choice episode. All the difficult choices our heros have to face will likely happen around here. Sacrifices will be made, lives will be, well OK lives won't be lost, but sacrifices maybe.  End of the road, could be a lot of things, too soon to really guess.

9. The Gathering

I think this one will have to do with the group of people in the unhappy face masks? Maybe? Gathering together? For a reason? I don't really know. This could just be the world coming together to fight for a unified cause, it could be a gathering of the team, it could be calling on old friends, lots of ways this could go. If you don't know about the unhappy face masks check out my 70 Days blog for that clip.

10. The Blood Line

A line of blood, like a conga line of people dying? Maybe they will pan out and we'll see massive world deaths domino style. No? Maybe not? The first thing I see is the word blood which makes me think we're gonna have the massive world-wide death scene at the end like I supposed in my 90 Days blog. I know it seems like I am linking to a lot of blogs but it's because a lot of these thoughts have been covered, some of which I didn't even link to. Maybe you should just read them all? It'll give you something to do while we wait, that is the idea after all. Where was I? Blood line, sounds death-ish, s'pose only time will tell.

~End individual episode thoughts~

But, there is one thing I wanted to mention before I go. While I was writing this blog a lot of the episode titles sounded familiar and it got me googling. With exception of episode 5 all of the titles are exact or approximate movie titles. 5 may be as well but I couldn't find it. It's my experience with the work of brilliant tv writers that nothing is ever a coincidence, even if the movies don't give us further insight into the episode, the naming was almost certainly intentional. Even if it was just for the sake of having fun with it. Just thought I'd point that out.

So what do you all make of the episode titles? Do you think I am reading too much into something as simple as a title? Any theories of your own? xx

57 Days left and today I went on another adventure. My friend Jenni and I went to check out the filming location for Torchwood today to see if we could get a glimpse. I think either today or tomorrow is that last day of filming so we thought we'd give it one last go.

Unfortunately today was not as fruitful as other location visits I've been on during Torchwood's time in  LA. Not to worry though I did take a couple of pictures of signs (exciting I know) and a picture of a nearby establishment which provided us with a some serious laughs. So slide show follows.

Picture
TW sign pointing to the filming location. Not too exciting, but proof I was there!

More signs, I know I spoil you all.
OK this next one is going to be highly entertaining. or at least it was for me, ready? Nothing actually to do with Torchwood filming we just saw it on the same street and had a chuckle.
Picture
No really though. I thought this was too funny. JB - John Barrowman...roofing supplies..."He's good on roofs."
Sorry I have very little to report from the nothing we saw but how about I make it up to you by showing you something cool you can buy? TeeFury.com is a website that sells geeky t-shirts. But the trick is they sell one tee shirt design a day and only for that day and you can't get it again. It's cool and at times infuriating if you miss a really good one. They do frequently have Torchwood and Doctor Who designs so you really should keep up with them.

Anyway the good news, if you are reading this the day I am writing it is that today's tee is Torchwood related!! Hooray! Here's the graphic: (it's not ours we're not claiming any ownership but we figured if we posted it here more folks would buy it, teefury if you read this and you rather we didn't I'll take it down immediately)

Torchwood references as follows: Cardiff is home of Torchwood 3, the gauntlet is the "Risen Mitten", the pteranodon is Myfanwy (who lived in the Hub) and the year established is 1879 (when the Torchwood Institute was created by Queen Victoria.)
That is so awesome! And it's very geeky for people in the know. I love things that you have to be particularly geeky to understand. The designer who has created many tees for the site is AJ Paglia. I ordered one and I'm excited to get it. TIME CHANGES suck! And I hate doing math. I tried my best and I asked for help and as best as I can figure out you can order this shirt until 5amGMT on Saturday (UK TIME) and 9pm PT (US East coast) and 12pm ET (US West coast). I REALLY cannot guarantee those calculations but if you go the the site there is a countdown clock on the top right to how long you have left to buy today's tee. Find today's tee at the home page TeeFury.com If the design I posted isn't there, you missed the time period.

Ok, good luck to all. I hope you enjoyed the silly pictures and I encourage you all to buy this tee. I am so sad that Torchwood filming in the US is over, that means the UK gets custody of John Barrowman and crew again soon :(. It was nice while they were here.

Are you guys gonna buy the shirt? How funny was JB roofing supplies? Will you miss Torchwood in the US or happy for the team to soon be heading back to the UK? xx
